Blog Assignment #10

I think that this experience is very important for our personal development, because do this blog enable us to write in english and lear, in each blog assignment, new words and new expressions, also improve our drafting. Also, the blogs were very funny to make, there wasn't bored topics or something that required search long texts on internet. We always wrote about something personal, not about bored characters of history or something like that.

In my case, I learned so many words and I feel I'm ready to write an e-mail or another blog. My writing skills are very developed, or this is that I think, because this activity allowed me to learn more about grammar, make sentences and read other blogs to understand this language.

In the future, I would like add some blog assignment relationated with our life... this exercise allow us know more about our classmates.

Also I think is very important make this blogs, because, in general, I'm very satisfied with this opportunity of write about our interests and our convictions.

I finish this blog so happy, because I wrote about all themes that interest me, and I'm sure that all my classmates also wrote about them or their interests.

Blog Assignment #9

My dream home would be located in Lota, this is an urban city and is located in Concepcion, Chile.

I dream with a small house in a quiet place. This place would be just to vacations, summer or winter, doesn't matter. I love the rain, especially when i see it across the window.

Lota is a mining town, but not away from civilization, obviously it's not like Santiago, insomuch as this place is very special, because is not developed, the people lives like in the XX century, the old women sell her harvest, the fresh cheese and a lot of sea's food.

The house that I dream is built with logs, I really want a rustic house, I don't want something modern and minimalist, because I only want a cosy house, where I can enjoy a landscape while I drink tea. The only special thing that I want in my house is a wood stove kitchen, where I can cook and keep the house warm.

I toke this decision because I've always dreamed with return to live in the south of chile, and Lota is a city that I love. Their little houses in the city makes a perfect combination that makes me happy. Also, I would like that my children could live and knows this wonderful place.

Blog Assignment #8

If I need to choose six place to visit, definitely, I choose: Abu Dhabi (UAE), Casablanca (Morocco), Petra (Jordan), Agra (India), San Petersburgo (Russia) and Weimar (Germany).  On my point of view, in Abu Dhabi, Agra, San Petersburgo and Weimar, we can see the best architecture on the world, Abu Dhabi it’s a perfect combination of good architecture and green areas, in Agra we can find the Taj Mahal, an icon of world architecture, in San Petersburgo the Church of the Savior on Blood and in Weimar, we can found the best school of design and architecture, the Bauhaus.

Now, I choose Casablanca and Petra for different reasons, Casablanca, because in this place was filmed the famous movie "Casablanca", and I really love this movie, I have always dreamed with travel to this city; on the other hand, we have Petra, I choose it because is an important archeological enclave and this city was built with stones.

I would like to go with my boyfriend to know this places or maybe alone, that’s not  a problem for me.

I can take off from Santiago de Chile to Casablanca, next,  I will cross Africa and arrive on Petra, next,  I can go to the UAE, and next destiny , Agra. After of know Africa , I will visit Europe (obviously flying from India to Russia), starting in Russia, and the next country to know will be Germany, that day, I will accomplish my dream.

This trip could be on two months or more, the length of this is not something to worry about. I pretend work and live in Chile all my life, because i love my country even more that those places, so the travels would be only on vacations.

Blog Assignment #7

I LOVE OLD MOVIES

I was always interested in movies, when I was in 4th in high school I had so many time, and I started to view movies, specifically old movies.

I saw movies like "Casablanca", "Singin' in the rain", "Lolita", "Whats new pussycat", "Dr. Strangelove" and "Citizen Kane". I think that the old movies are the best movies of all times, the topics can make you cry, laugh, dream, fall in love, criticize, inform and many more things. The movies before 70's are really classic cinema, are better than today, marked a before and after in the film history (indisputably).

My favorite movie is "Dr. Strangelove or how I learned to stop worrying and love the bomb", directed by Stanley Kübrick, for me, the best movie director of all times. He is a mastermind, his movies are so controversial, still in this times. I was really impressed with this movie, because Kübrick made a satire about cold war, and the conflicts between EEUU and URSS, from a critical and comedic perspective (even in cold war times). I love the characters, specially the actor Peter Sellers who made the role of three characters, I was really impressed with his talent.

Blog Assigment #6

I choose a very important person for the development and evolution of the public administration, Elton Mayo.
Mayo was a social theorist, sociologist, industrial psychologist and specialist in organizational theory , human relations and human relations movements. He was born on December 26th, 1880 in Australia.
His principal interest was study the worker and the psychological effects that could produce the physical conditions of the work respect with the production. He show, with an experiment (Hawtorne) that the people work efficiently when into the organization exist a pleasant environment. Other contribution was create the base for the Human Relations School, this a key point for the development of public administration.

Elton Mayo is very important because in his contribution we base the study of the public administration, his evolution and nowadays the approach is applied to different organizations.

I know about him because in class of Organization Theory the teacher spoke about Elton Mayo when she explained the evolution of public administration and the different schools of administration, one of this, the Human Relations School.

I think is very important know about Elton Mayo, because we need organizations that consider the human element for his development, we don't need organizations that only found to get money or be efficient and effective without considering the welfare of workers.

Palestinian woman facing an Israeli military...

This photo has taken by Jaafar Ashtiyeh, he has taken many photos about Palestine, many of them about the violence in this nation.
Since the beginning of the rebellion Jaafar covers the violence of both of the Israelis incursions and the Palestinian militants. He continues documenting the chaos reeked upon the daily living of those caught up in the conflict.
In this particular photo, you can see a Palestinian woman facing an Israeli military during a manifestation. This is just one of thousands of photos that show the palestinian-israeli conflict. I dream with a FREE PALESTINE, whit mens, womans and childrens free, NO MORE TORTURE.
I came from an arab family. Im always reading about the middle-east topic, especially about Palestine. I cant uderstand the reason why Israeli army acts with this violently... I cant find the date of this photo, but probably is from 2010's.

Blog Assignment #4

My favorite book is "Rimas y Leyendas", written by Gustavo Adolfo Bécquer.

I don't like the poetry, but when I was in 7th grade ,the teacher decided to make a class in the library, everyone had to pick a book, so I chose “Rimas y Leyendas”, this text is about rhymes, about love and heartbreak, and at last pages we can find some legends .
This book has many topics, such as mystery, love, heartbreak, gnomes, souls, God, passion, demons, etc.
I love the rhymes, the words that Bécquer use make me feel really identified, he is really good at handling people emotions, make’s you fall in love of this book, and this a big reason to love it so much. It produces me many feelings, sometimes I feel a tingle on my stomach, and that’s something really hard to produce on people who don't like the poetry.
This book is really magic, I recommend it to everyone because, if you dont want to read always the same books of love, this could be the best chance to read something new,  enchanting and feel you're part of those beautiful stories.
This is a book everyone has to read at less one time in their lives

My favorite piece of technology is ...

THE RECORD PLAYER

I love listen music, and I think is magic listen my vinyl in a record player.
I have one of this in my bedroom (works with electricity) and my mother bought a old record player (is in the living room, works with string).
I've dedicated to buy many vinyls, I have vinyls of: The Beatles, Violeta Parra, chilean music, and my favorite and the best gift... Fernando Milagros (San Sebastián).
I bought my record player in 2011, it was hard, because only a few people sells this appliances.
I'm always listening music, because the sound is very special, more than radios or mp3 player, the sound is... I don't know how describe it. I love the sound!!!
My life without the record player, I can't imagine my life listening music on radios or mp3 player...
The beauty of listen vinyls on the record player is a UNPARALLELED EXPERIENCE.

Blog Assignment #2

In this semester I hope good marks in my subjects, because I'm always studying to learn more about this career.

Also, this semester I take a free subject: Latin-American's Artistic Speeches, to know the latin-american art and his influence on the politic. I'm so happy with this, I think that this class is very important for my personal development and the public administration development (the area I want).

I like this semester, because I could choose my teachers in all the subjects, all that I want, the best teachers.
